List of Proof Documents Required For Aadhar

  • Proof of Identity (PoI)
  • Proof of Address (PoA)
  • Proof of Date of Birth (DoB)
  • Proof of Relationship (PoR)

Proof of Identity Documents (PoI):

These Proof of Identity Documents are needed either when you are applying for a new Aadhar or when you are updating details in your Aadhaar.

In both cases these are required so that you can be verified as the Indian Citizen, because these Aadhar cards are issued to the residents of India only.

These Identity Proof Documents(POI) are provided to you by the different bodies of the National Government from which some of them are been listed in below.

  • Passport.
  • Government Photo ID Cards
  • Voter ID.
  • Driving License.
  • PAN Card.
  • Ration/ PDS Photo Card.
  • Any Service photo identity card issued by PSU

These are the most required documents which can be submitted as the Proof of Identity documents during applying for an Aadhar.

All that is needed in a Proof of Identity Card is that the full name of the certain individual should be recorded in the particular certificate. It is to verify your name which is registered in the Aadhar card.

Proof of Address Documents (PoA):

These proof of Address documents are also required for an Aadhaar card just to verify that if you are a resident of India or not.

As these documents are issued by the Government itself, the following list of documents can be submitted as the Address Proof Documents.

  • Passport
  • Bank Statement/ Passbook.

As if you are not possessing any of those documents are if you lost those Address proof documents, then you are able to submit the following list of documents.

  • Electricity Bill
  • Water bill
  • Telephone Landline Bill
  • Property Tax Receipt
  • Credit Card Statement

But the one thing is that every document listed below should not be older than the 3 months as older than that is not accepted by the UIDAI.

Proof of Date of Birth Documents (DOB):

Aadhaar Card is also can be used as the Date of Birth proof document. So to verify the date of birth in Aadhaar card another Date of Birth Document is required to be submitted.

  • Birth Certificate.
  • SSLC Book/Certificate.
  • Passport.
  • Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Group A Gazetted Officer on letterhead.
  • PAN Card.
  • Marksheet issued by any Government Board or University.
  • Government Photo Id Card / Photo identity card issued by PSU containing DoB.

All the documents submitted should be scanned copy of original documents as submitting fake documents will get your Application for Aadhaar rejected.

Proof of Relationship Documents (PoR):

These Documents will have the relationship of a member with the head of the family so that these may be used for verification purposes which undergoes in Application Procedure for Aadhaar.

  • Army Canteen Card.
  • Passport.
  • PDS Card.
  • MNREGA Job Card.
  • CGHS/State Government/ECHS/ESIC Medical card.
  • Any other Central/State government issued family entitlement document.
  • Marriage Certificate Issued by the Government.
  • Pension Card.
  • Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Birth, Municipal.
  • Corporation and other notified local government bodies like Taluk, Tehsil etc.

You are also permitted a single document which can be considered as all Address, Identity, Date of Birth, Relationship proof document if you have any such as passport or Ration card.
