By Sending SMS:

In need to check the status of your Aadhaar card just follow the steps carefully.

  • Open Messages app on your Mobile.
  • Click on Compose Message.
  • Type UID STATUS – space – <14-digit Enrollment number> or Type UID STATUS – Space – <28 Digit EID> on your mobile phone.
  • Once check the details if they are wrong or right.
  • Send this Message to 51969.

If your Enrollment number is 1234/1234/1234, then the format of sending the message will be,

  • UID STATUS <123412341234>

  • Visit the Official UIDAI page,
  • Click on ‘Find UID/EID’ option.
  • On the page, there are 2 options – to retrieve your UID Number and to retrieve your 28-digit Enrollment Number (EID).
  • Choose the EID option.
  • Enter your details such as full name, email id or mobile number and security code in their respective columns.
  • Click on the Get OTP button.
  • A One-Time Password will be sent to your registered email id or mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP received in the Step 2 column.
  • Click on the ‘Verify OTP’ at the end of the page.

Once the OTP you entered is verified, then the page will display your enrollment number.

You can use this enrollment number and date/time to fill in the details on the “Check Aadhaar Status” page and continue as you would check UIDAI status with acknowledgement slip.

It is important to keep track of your UIDAI if you have not received it after application. If your Aadhar Card is delayed by over 90 days, keep checking the status in any of the above methods convenient to you.
